On February 3, 2022, Medical Review Institute of America, LLC announced that its servers had been hacked on or before November 9, 2021. This data breach exposed the personal information of its patients—including first and last names, genders, home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, date of birth, social security numbers, medical information (such as history, diagnosis, treatment, dates of service, lab test results, prescriptions, provider names, and medical account number), and financial information (such as health insurance policy and group plan number, group plan provider, claim information).
